Tucked between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek on the scenic Helshoogte Pass, Le Pommier Wine Estate is where warm hospitality meets the relaxed charm of Cape Winelands living. Once an apple orchard, today it’s a haven for good food, fine wine, and unforgettable country experiences.
Our story
Rooted in history and family, Le Pommier began as part of the 300-year-old Zorgvliet farm. The estate has grown over the years while keeping its heart intact — genuine service, country comfort, and a deep love for the land. Owned and run by Johan and Melanie van Schalkwyk, Le Pommier continues the van der Merwe family legacy, blending tradition with fresh ideas to create a home away from home for every guest.
Franschhoek Wine Tram
Plan your visit to Le Pommier as part of your Franschhoek Wine Tram experience. Enjoy a meal, a wine tasting, or a wine pairing. We offer outdoor and indoor seating with beautiful lawns. We also have a fireplace for colder Cape winter days.
